P5K explored 'Total Towers' today using the IZAK9 resource. We were given a total and had to use our numbered blocks to make the total at the top of the tower using our known mathematical operations; multiplication, division, adding and subtracting. We had to include more than 1 mathematical operation in our working out for each tower, and this led to some very impressive mathematical language being demonstrated in our explanations of our work! We all worked very hard to problem solve and Miss Kirkpatrick was very impressed with how we mentally calculated and worked as a team!
